As one travels along his/her linguistic journey, they face a number of obstacles. One of those obstacles is concerning how to acquire more and more vocabulary which, in the eyes of many language learners, could be compared to a mountain standing right before. Many find this obstacle as one of the most intimidating aspects of the journey and, while vocabulary can appear to be as such, the truth is, that this obstacle can be overcome, this "mountain" can be climbed. It just takes a step at a time. Here are some practical steps to help you learn more words and overcome "Mt. Vocabularis"!!!


1. Read, Read, and Read


Reading is the most effective way to learn new words. By reading a variety of content like books, newspapers, magazines, and online articles, you expose yourself to different topics, writing styles, and, of course, words. Highlight or note down words that you don't understand and feel you could use.
